We purchased the building on 11 Granary Way in September of
2007 and embarked on what was to be 9 months of extensive renovation.  Along with the help of our friend and “muscle” behind the job, we managed to do most of the work ourselves.  Little did we know how extensive the entire job was going to be.

 After realizing that most of the front of the building & much of the floor were rotted, we soon  found out that the foundation (of which there wasn’t  any in the front) had to be replaced on
one entire side of the building.

  A long winter of work turned into a push to get everything ready for opening for our first season on May 16^th.  But we did all that we set out to do with the exception of replacing the roof, which finally was completed in November 2008.

 We opened our doors with everything in place and allowed ourselves to enjoy all of our hard work during our first season at The Creative Turtle. We have filled our gallery with meaningful collections of items that are reflective of our love of our dogs, nature and interesting finds from our treks to flea markets, yard sales & beaches. Pamela’s paintings & prints line our walls as well as fill our floors with her brightly painted furniture.  There is hand forged silver & beach stone jewelry, as well as unique beaded designs by Anita.  Most important was our goal of making our “pet parents” feel welcome in our gallery, we added many eco-friendly items for your dog & cat. Colorful dog collars & leashes, pet bowls & great toys either recycled or organic can be found….
Dog biscuits & catnip too!!   Our vision for the gallery is one that welcomes everyone who loves animals, color, energy and the spirit of nature.
